The pre-launch of the first water taxi (WT PATSLOKE-I) which would ply on the Brahmaputra took place at Lachit Ghat, Machkhowa (Guwahati, Assam) on the 6th of February 2018. The event was attended by dignitaries of IWT, Assam and media personnel. The event garnered a lot of buzz as the people were excited to take catch a glimpse of the first ever water taxi cruising on the Brahmaputra.
The 8 seater boat with an OBM of 40HP is capable of achieving 14 knots .The boat which is currently in its pilot run is plying between the South and North Banks of Brahmaputra at Guwahati. Our future plan comprises of extending our services upto Palasbari (Ghat on the Brahmaputra at Guwahati) for swift airport connectivity. This will reduce travel time between city centre to airport from 90 mins (by road) to approximately 35 mins. Our expansion plan includes procurement of 8 ,12 and 25 seater boats as per route and passenger demand.
